Auckland event: Boating basics for women at Woodbine Marine

Woodbine Marine is hosting a Ladies’ Night: Boating Basics for Women, created to encourage more women to feel confident using boats and jet skis. It’s a paid ticket event, run by ladies, for ladies, with space for around 30 attendees — and goodie bags on the night make it even more worth turning up for.

This is a relaxed, supportive evening designed for anyone new to boating, wants a refresher, or simply wants to feel more comfortable taking the helm.

What you'll cover:

The session includes practical, confidence-building basics like:

• Boat terminology (nautical language made simple)

• Safety first (key safety checks and on-water habits)

• Navigation basics (charts, markers and buoys)

• Weather essentials (how to read the forecast properly)

• Boat prep (getting launch-ready)

• Basic boat handling (what to think about at the helm)

• Boat communication (staying connected while you’re out)
